We believe in inclusivity, not exclusivity. We respect all players identities and encourage everyone to express themselves as they wish.
Check our Registration page to view the active registrations (note: most sports have multiple seasons throughout the year).
You must have an account created with LeagueApps to register. When registering for a sport, you have four options:
- Team Captain: Team Captains create their team in LeagueApps when registering. Captains may already have an established team or may be open to welcoming new players.
- Team Player: A Team Player will select their team when registering.
- Note: A Team Captain must have already registered the team in LeagueApps before a Team Player can register on that team. Free agents are asked NOT to sign up as a Team Player unless you have talked to the Team Captain about joining their team.
- Free Agent: Free agents will be assigned to a team after registration closes. You may be assigned to an established team or a team of all free agents.
- Small Group Member: The Small Group Member registration option is used when you and other friends want to be placed on the same team together but don’t have enough players for a whole team.
- Note: Organizers will do their best to place you all on the team together after registration closes.
Registration deadlines vary per sport, but typically close one month prior to the league start date. Leagues fill up fast, so make sure to register early to reserve your spot.
Note: Registration will open 3 days early for DEI Early Registration. Only people who identify as one or more of the following marginalized groups may register during DEI Early Registration: Race & Ethnicity, Gender Diversity, and/or Person of Disability.
Yes, you can register as a Free Agent! Free agents will be assigned to a team after registration closes. We try our best to place all free agents with a team (including creating a Free Agent team if enough individuals register as free agents). In the event that we are unable to place you on a team, you will receive a full refund.
Note: Free Agents can expect to receive their team placement in LeagueApps. The Schedule will sent via email at least 7 days prior to the league start.
Each sport registration fee varies, but we strive to have affordable registration costs across all our sports. Registration includes a team t-shirt and covers that respective league fee (including all season games/playoff tournament).
We have a Fee Assistance Program found here for individuals experiencing financial hardship.
Refunds are NOT given after you register for a league, with the following exceptions:
- The league is cancelled before the season begins
- Call-ups to military service before the league begins
- Medical incapacity before the league starts
- Note: requires a doctor’s note to be provided to the Sport Director
Most games run between 30 minutes-to-1 hour, playing within the assigned timeframe weekly*. Game times will rotate each week within the assigned timeframe and your team may play a double-header on a given week. The Schedule will be sent out at least 7 days before the league start date by the Sport Director.
*Note that Playoff Tournament times are subject to change.
We try our best to play scheduled games, but may wait til closer to game start before making a decision. Sometimes game cancellation is out of our control, as some locations use City of Raleigh fields and the City has the final decision on field closure.
If games are cancelled due to weather, participants will be notified via email and Team Captains will be notified via GroupMe.
Note: Canceled games may or may not be rescheduled dependent on a number of factors. This information will be communicated to Team Captains by the Sport Director.
If you are a Team Captain, below are typical responsibilities:
- Attend the pre-season Captains Meeting (or send a team designee if you cannot attend).
- Ensure your team has enough players each week by taking 'roll call' via messaging/group chat/emailing your team. If your team does not have enough players in a given week and needs to forfeit a game, the Team Captain must notify the Sport Director in advance.
- Communicate league info, schedule changes, and other important information from Stonewall Leadership to your players.
- Ensure your players follow the Stonewall Code of Conduct
For additional questions or concerns, it is the Team Captain’s responsibility to contact the Sport Director.
Each sport typically hosts a Kick-Off Party prior to the season start where players can pick up their team t-shirt and connect socially with other participants & teams.
Note: If you cannot attend the Kick-Off party, your team t-shirt will be given to you at the first game by your Team Captain.
For our Kickball & Dodgeball leagues, we promote the league Sponsor's Bar for 'Sunday Funday.’ This provides an opportunity for members to build community in a social way each week after the games end.
In previous years, Sponsors have included Legends Nightclub, Flex, and The Avenue.
